Rule Followers, which most of us seem to be, tend to follow rules obediently. These are the people who, if given a picture to color, will carefully try to stay within the lines. If you ask them why they’re following a rule they’ll look surprised and respond ‘because it’s a rule.’ Rule Followers define our very existence as black and white; right and wrong. They also tend to be the ones most likely to get caught if they do decide to break a rule.
Then you have the Rule Ignorers. Most of them eventually meet up with law enforcement because they’re defiant by nature and can’t seem to help themselves. These are the people who take the crayon and scribble intentionally all over the page, purposely ignoring the lines they're supposed to stay inside of.
And finally, The Grays. They tend to only follow rules when they make sense. They question authority and everything else, obliging when it’s wise to do so either for safety or security, to show good manners or to evade the law. They’re a bit sneakier than others, having an innate ability to know how far outside of the boundaries they can go. They may or may not color outside of the lines, depending on the consequences of such actions. They tend to have honed the skill of getting away with rule breaking and sometimes get an adrenaline jolt when they’ve gone a bit too far, even for them.
Which one are you?
